Just seeing what happens to the other messages of a thread if I start a thread and then delete the message that I started the thread with.

So, the first message can't be deleted.

I remember that with the old software, when a thread was deleted, you couldn't tell if it was the moderator or the thread starter that deleted the thread.

Steve, could you delete this thread? Thanks.

(Or leave it if you think it's worthwhile.)

Good idea to leave it.

Thanks.

I'm glad it's working the way it is. Too many threads that didnt' make sense anymore, when someone deleted a post in the middle, or worse, the whole thread.

I think Steve explained earlier that you can delete your message and replace the text with something like "deleted by the creator."

Another good thing about this new software is the quote feature. I use it on occasion to capture rogue posts that I think will disappear in a short while. It's then up to the moderators to decide whether they want to delete it too.

Not sure what you meant by this since it only seems like a nicer way to cut and paste a quote. A quote box is no guarantee that the quote ever existed in a message. For example,
